Currently got a marshall valvestate 100R head, its solidstate but with 1 tube. Was my first expensive amp purchse. I bought this along with a JCM900 cabinet, cant go wrong with that cab.
Anyways, my question is: What kind of head should i trade the valvestate in for? I definatly want a tube amp and i need some good distortion since i dont like pedals (except for my wah, and volume pedal)

theyre almost the exact same excpet the dsl has two channels (dual super lead) while the tsl has 3 (triple super lead) i have tried both and the tsl is the better, (because of its third 'lead' channel) its clean channel is really good imo put on the reverb tweak it a bit its awsome. the crunch is more for older rock acdc zeppelin type shit (yet nile uses this channel...dont know how) the lead is for more 'modern' heaver stuff. they have lines out so you can plug it straight into a 6-track or whatever. it also has a mute button so if you are doing that you can crank it for the tube saturation and not blow your ears heh. it has another button that cuts the tube power in half so you can turn it up and get the saturation without the volume but it sucks your tone imo, it also had a 'deep switch' and 'tone switch' which can trasitically change your tone. so with about 20 knobs and those three switches you can get almost any tone I actually have to tsl, and she definitally kicks ass
