agreed. especially after fate of norns. the music was rockin, dont get me wrong, i hated the production on that album. when WOOOS (heh) came out, i was blown away...i wish in some sense they would redo avenger and crusher the same, but the tone of those albums is just classic....i think it would be badass to hear like wooos though maybe once or twice

Swedish metallers Amon Amarth have issued the following update:
(continued fom Guitar Demon's news post.....)
Jens Bogren will be producing the album, he produced "With Oden On Our Side". We're looking forward to yet another successful collaboration. We'll barricade ourselves for the next month and a half. The album will be recorded in the traditional way, starting with drums, followed by guitars, bass, and vocals. There are plans for some cool guest appearance but nothing we can reveal just yet. We will try our best to keep you updated with vlogs, photos and a studio diary. Provided that we can tear ourselves away from the PS3, wii and of course... a healthy serving of Swedish vodka.
In other news, we've added two UK shows this summer. We're pleased to announce that we'll be appearing for the first time at this year's Download festival. We are scheduled to play second stage on Saturday, June 14th. Since we're already on Brittish soil, we figure that we might as well do some further pillaging. We will be making an appearance at Metal Hammer's Golden Gods Award show on June 16. For a complete list of our confirmed live dates, check our upcoming shows section. "

Amon Amarrth have posted the following update on their official website:
"This weekend we are off to that magical island called the UK for a show at legendary Donington Park and the Download Festival. It's sure to be a full weekend of mayhem - and then some - as we're also doing an appearance on the Metal Hammer Awards after party before we return to Stockholm on Tuesday.
In other news we are completely finished with the recording of the new album and Jens (Bogren - producer) has started the mixing process. If everything goes to plan, the mixing will be done by the end of next week and we are confident that this will be a killer album."
Songtitles to be included on the album are "Guardians Of Asgaard", "Live For The Kill" and "Tattered Banners And Bloody Flags".

Amon Amarth have posted following statement:
''We have had plans of doing a smaller club show tour for quite some time now where we would mainly play older songs, but that has been very hard to pull off. So when this idea was brought to us of re-visiting the 4 first full lenght albums at Bochum in Germany we were all up for it. This will be a once in a life time chance for us to play and our fans to experience all the old songs that we don't have room for in the setlist anymore, but are still too good to not play! Of course we'll also play songs from the new upcoming album, as well as "With Oden On Our Side" and "Fate Of Norns". Since these shows will be unique we thought we could might as well record the shows too!
We are thrilled over this event and look forward to the shows. It will be some hard work and preparation playing around 50 -60 different songs in 4 days. Some songs we haven't played for a very, very long time and some we have never played live at all. But challenges are something that encourages us!''
4 Evenings - 4 Shows - 4 Albums Zeche Bochum, Germany
28.12.2008 Once Sent From The Golden Hall 29.12.2008 The Avenger 30.12.2008 The Crusher 31.12.2008 Versus The World
Apart from playing the 4 albums in their entirety each night there will be a best of mix from "Fate Of Norns", "With Oden On Our Side" and of course the new upcoming album!
