ok...well im currently listening to it on some pretty good speakers
1. blasting the virginborn ------------------------------- pretty kick ass song...rockin throughout the whole thing
2.weak aside ----------------- my favorite out of the 4, cool intro followed by blasting!!(which is what everyone wants to hear on a death metal album) badass riff when he starts singing though...really grovin and reminds me of thier earlier shit which fucken owns
3. Sick Salvation --------------------- pretty powerfull riffage and blasting drums...but after the beginning theres a few good riffs, but overall it just sounds too fast for "old-school" death metal or anything they have previously played
4. mouth of empty praise -------------------------------- reminds me of their earlier stuff, changin feel/time signitures once and a while...seems kinda choppy and pieced together for no good reason...some cool shit once again
i must say, when mikel sang on the first 2 albums, he was brutal and not sounding like opeth, not that he really does on this album, it just seems like his edge is missing, more monotounus (sp?) singing...
sound production is pretty fatty too, so im sure it will slam the shit out of your subs mg \m/

Posted on the official website on April 16th by Anders "Blakkheim" Nystrom:
"Bloodbath just spent the last week at Park Studio in Stockholm where Axe put down an (un)healthy doze of all the basic ingredients and more to get this death metal monster meal cooking in hell's oven. We're talking classic oldschool skinpounding, furious blastbeats, double bassdrums, all kinds of tempos and a heavy load of killer fills, yeah you name it… This time it turned out to be 11 brand new songs on the menu for the band's still untitled third album. So what direction does the material take this time? Well It's definately taking off where we left with "Unblessing The Purity". The material represents nothing but hateful brutality, so there's surely a lot of speed countered with heavy groove. Riff wise, we're playing a lot with dissonant harmonies for that feverish possessed feeling, but we also brought back the whole melodic yet haunting "bee-swarming" theme concept from the past albums to represent the classic sound, so there's definately gonna be a good deal of variety on here which we hope to pack together in the most crushing production yet. The recording will now be moved to engineer David Castillo's newbuilt studio where we'll put down the guitars and bass over the next month while waiting for Mike to return from his touring in June to cut the vocals before we enter mix mode. The cover artwork will once again be handled by Dusty Peterson. The album has been set for an October 6th release, but the album title, song titles, audio teasers and the coverartwork will show up during the summer. Stay tuned. Bloodbath is here to slay, Bloodbath is here to stay!"

Bloodbath have issued the following update: "The new Bloodbath minisite for latest album "The Fathomless Mastery" is now unleashed, to coincide with the October 6th (Europe) & October 28th (North America) release of this latest slab of brutality. The minisite feature album information, downloads and much more. We also give you the chance to check out the world premiere of two complete audio tracks; "Slaughtering The Will To Live" (currently up on the minisite) and the unholy anthem "Mock The Cross" (currently streaming on Bloodbath's MySpace). The streamed song selections will possibly be changed weekly up 'til the release date, so keep checking back in." hahah theres so much going on in every song that the first few listens its actually overwhelming.... but THEN WATCH OUT!!!!!!!!! CAUSE ITS GONNA GET CRAAAAAZY! Really though, its a deadly album, as i said - best dm album in a LOOOOONG time Have you noticed that theres almost nothing that makes you want to skip to the next song,, and theres also nothing that takes your attention away from the music, nothing annoying and overdone. Just plain perfect

Must say, this is kind of an interesting read.... you'll see. I also don't agree with what they are illustrating on their shirts, but i sure as hell (lol) don't put it against the band. If these idiots don't like the shirt design THEN DONT BUY IT!!!!!! I would also like to know how these people came across the shirt, you would assume they are fans of Bloodbath to begin with right? So now that concludes that they're lyrics are ok, but to illustrate it on a t-shirt is wrong....... yeah........ ok......... GET A LIFE! Thats my 2 cents Bloodbath have posted the following message on their website already a few days ago: "We have just learned that our latest shirt design [Front, Back] has run into some controversy. Actually, It's been a bit of a rocky road from the start with this one. Back at the sketch board, some of our art direction ideas were met by hesitation and according to the designer would feel "uncomfortable to do". However, the design went through and obviously with such a fantastic piece of artwork and beautiful symbolism the t-shirt has hit home with Bloodbath's audience all over the world, but apparently a demon vomiting on Jesus on a cross, surrounded by snakes, vultures and skulls was over the line for some confused " death metal" fans. Perhaps they should ask themselves if it was really death metal they were searching for in the first place. Here are examples of some Dr Phil approved quotes we recieved: "Recently saw your t-shirt "Mock The Cross." It seems rather childish and immature not to mention very dangerous, to ridicule Christ. Why such disdainment for the incarnate God who died to save all mankind, even your sorry asses! If you have a problem with organized religion that's one thing. It has little to do with Christ and His life and teachings. Of course if you curse Him in apparent ignorance, then you wouldn't know the difference. Hell won't be a cool place to be. The power of the cross is foolishness to those perishing." "I Don't care about all the satan woreshippers that are gonna flame me. But, BloodBath YOU JUST LOST A FAN. On that degrading shirt. I believe what I believe. I rather not have bands mock it. This band is done. Never again. See you on judgment day." To top it off, we also just recieved the following message from Raw Talent, the printer of the merchandise: "I have just been informed by the owner of the company that unfortunately we will not be able to print the "mock the cross" design again for you guys. It is against the owner's moral and ethical standard for himself and also for the company. He wanted me to let you know and to send his apologies." With that said, let's get the weak aside and the Bloodbath choir ready to mock the fucking cross again as we moved on to a new printer for our latest over the top "Iesous" shirt design. Original artwork by Alex Norman features a detailed drawing of a dead Jesus with a crown of thorns and blind eyes, bleeding crosses in the background on both sides, and his hair engulfing skulls and the Bloodbath logo. The back features a cross dripping in blood with the lyrics: "Eeso Yeshua Iesous Die By Our Rage". The design was also printed using a technique which results in the ink becoming one with the fabric, creating a soft vintage look and feel. Not a shirt to miss, grab one now!"
