Not sure how many of you record, but i find that digital line recording is a lot more clear than micing. But mic's create a live warmth that sounds completely smooth and powerful.
Its hard to choose... crisp clean digital, or the warmth of micing.

the only thing I can do is mic now. but my 'mic' is a POS excuse for one that came with the computer hah

Thats what we used to use to record our practice sessions.... one of those Packard bell computer mics on a little stand. HAHAHA my singer used to hold it like Bob Barker on "The Price is Right" HAHA goddamn thats a funny memory.

fuck that, micing sounds much better as in complete fullness. I think that using line sources just dumbs it down. like you said it is warm, I really love the sound.

I got that digitech fx board now, i run it through the input on the amp, and then line out to the computer. It sounds better then micing, i recommend this pedal for recording purposes (not as much for live playing). The sound is so crisp but still has that mic'd sounding effect to it.
