as many of you know im a bassist, but im also a harpist, drummer, penny whistle-ist (...?)...essentially a jack-of-all-trades, master of none. ive got a few musical projects up in the air right now and I think i should expand my musical ability. this means learning.......guitar ::)i have to admit im very attracted to Vs and RRs, whenever i get together with my guitarist friends I play around on their King Vs. It feels....right, heh. if i wasnt such a nice guy, I might steal Guitar Demon's axe but what id like to know is are there any budget priced decent guitars that might serve as an introduction or even a semi-permenant axe? i was looking at the kerry king V package, the reviews are good. any help would be appreciated!

those ibanez rg321's are supposed to be pretty good. only thing i dont like is the frets are usually rough edged on them. its not very smooth to run your hand up and down it like my les paul is. Weathered Black finish Wizard II neck 3pc. Maple Neck Material Mahogany Body 24/Jumbo frets Bound Rosewood Finger Board Fixed bridge IBZ INF3 (H) Neck PU IBZ INF4 (H) Bridge PU Pearl Dot Inlay CK : Hardware Color Price: £199.00

I love the fucking RR's shape and feel, I play an RR5 and it is phenomonal, I'd personally pick up a RRX10 or a RR3 or even a JS30 RR if I were you, they are lighter than the KV's also, and in my opinion alot more wicked looking, I play thrash-death metal on it and shred the fuck out of the neck, really easy/nice to pull sweeps on, I havent played any of the less expensive models minus the js30 but the pickups are great (seymour duncan), pretty sure a jb-jazz set

Well i tried out a pile of different ibanezes and jacksons (between $500 and $1000) and found that the best 2 were the joe satriani signature ibanez JS100 (the bottom end model $850) and the jackson dk2 were close in sound. Thats just my opinion though... The satch had a shitty neck and fairly small body so i went with the Jackson. Its got the fastest neck ive ever played. The bridge pickup is deadly also.
Im not a fan of single coil pickups sound. It seems like i can only stand active doubles or quality passive humbucks. Just a random thought...
