Simple question...fingers or pick?
i know this is the on going debate between all bassists and usually people think that if you play with a pick your crap. I play with both depending on what sound i'm looking for and what kind of music im playing... i actually find it harder to play with a pick in many circumstances.
anyway, what do you play with and why?

I use a pick because i learned guitar first, then when i got my first bass found it easier to just use a pick. Im not very good at all with fingering probably because i dont play very much bass (although i would like to play more).

i find using your fingers is way more manouverable (if that word could be used for it...) you can get everywhere, especially when you can use more than 2 fingers.
and you can get that tone that using a pick makes if you work on it...i however can't be arsed. im happy with using a pick aswell ;D

i use my fingers and i practice an hour of just fingerpicking occasionally. i like the sound, it has more character and boom. if you get a limiter or something that can help get rid of volume spikes, its wonderful. and i agree, its more manuverable

i use a pick when i'm playing super fast stuff, like punk, such as rancid, and fingering the rest of the time
