For a short time, you can download the new program called Adobe Soundbooth, a new multitrack audio station. Im downloading it right, and heard it was good by a few friends. You can download it here, get it now before it is removed. labs.adobe.com/downloads/soundbooth.html

adobe audition was a multi-tracking program. It was also a pile of garbage. It was pure crap.
It also doesnt work with sony soundforge, so you have to close the fucking program everytime you want to edit an indivual waveform.

I tried audition too, and your right it is shit. Adobe bought out syntrillium a couple years ago and turned their multitrack programs into useless adobe ones (with half of the utilities removed).
Cool edit pro 2.0 is still good for the average person. Next in line is Cubase and the rest of the $500+ ones.
What do you use corpsevomit?

i use wavepad, soundforge and acid pro 6.0
they're the nicest to use i've found and pretty straightforward. all the ellylldan stuff is done in wavepad, although i'm moving it to acid pro as its obviously more versatile, especially when i'm using hundereds of sound effects all coming in at key times etc...

Im possibly thinking about making the jump to pro-tools. Has anyone ever used it?

i havent tried protools, but hear only good things about it. Too much money for me to spend at the moment.
I dont think ive tried soundforge either, is it really decent?

thanks.
i think you need a card installed in your computer with protools in order for the program to run.
